Spreading Your Light

Spreading the Light

A friend suggested I write about spreading the light as follow-up to my post about finding the light. What better day to do this than on the first day of Hanukkah? There are eight days of Hanukkah each represented by eight candles that are lit on each night. There is one special candle called the shamash that is used to light the other candles each night. The shamash is literally spreading its light to all the other candles. In much the same way, we can help spread light to others in many simple ways. I saw a similar calendar to the one below and think it is a great way to help us spread light through random acts of kindness for the next month. These are just suggestions. I'm sure you have many ideas of your own. So, How will you be a shamash today?
